SUBJECT: NJFamilyCare

Governor Corzine has made a commitment for New Jersey to provide universal health insurance to children and affordable options for parents with the recent signing of new legislation. P.L. 2008 Chapter 38 mandates that all children 18 and under have health insurance. A child enrolled in school insurance only will not satisfy this mandate.

A child's health insurance coverage can be provided through an employee-sponsored plan, an individual plan or NJFamilyCare, which provides free or low cost insurance for children and parents.

Please visit the NJFamilyCare website at http://www.njfamilycare.org for further information.
